Essential information for visitors
Entry by advanced online booking only
Please book online and in advance. This is to help us manage the number of people in the museum, limit the queuing and reduce contact. Please keep to your allotted timeslot in the museum.
A new experience
We are the same Museum but with added social distancing, one-way routes and a contactless experience. For health & safety reasons we have removed our family friendly activities and interactives (books, toys, story bags, dress-up clothes, colouring pens etc). Don’t worry, you’ll still find plenty to see and we have a new ‘Maximo Mouse Trail’ around the galleries for kids to follow and enjoy.
Your safety is our priority
We have made a few changes that put your safety, as well as the safety of our staff, first.
We ask you to wear a face covering whilst visiting the museum and in our shop and Visitor Information Centre for your safety and the safety of our other visitors and staff.
The number of visitors to the Museum has been reduced so you can maintain social distancing during your visit.
If you are feeling unwell
If you or anyone you live with displays symptoms associated with COVID-19, please delay your visit until it is safe to do so.
Hand sanitiser stations
Hand sanitiser will be available, at regular intervals, for you to use.
The frequency of our cleaning throughout the Gallery has been increased, including toilets and other facilities.
Protection for our staff
Personal protective equipment (PPE) has been introduced for our staff, including face masks and gloves.
